Donald W. "Duck" Mowrer, 77, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at ManorCare Health Services, Elizabethtown. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Milton H. and Myrtle (Witmer) Mowrer. Donald graduated from East Donegal High School, Maytown, PA, in 1951. He retired from Burle Industries (the former RCA Corp.) of Lancaster. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Infantry, having served an overseas tour in Korea. A member of the Mount Joy Church of God, Donald participated in the church softball league, both as a player and later as a coach. He enjoyed watching sports on TV, solving puzzles, and playing card games. In the past he was an avid bowler.
Surviving is a brother Robert W., husband of Naomi (Gerber) Mowrer of Marietta; a sister Marion Spinks of Elizabethtown; and three nieces: Amy Hoyer, Leslie Heindel, and Jill Beachy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd W. "Joe" Mowrer and Milton H. "Bim" Mowrer, and a brother-in- law Andy Spinks.See the full content of this document
