James Helwig Kline, 72, of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2010. He was the husband of Mary Louise Murry Kline. He was born in Columbia, son of the late Lloyd R. and Bertha O. Helwig Kline. He was a GSA Representative for the US Government. He was baptized at Grace EC Church in 1938 and was a member of Ironville United Methodist Church; a veteran of the US Navy; a graduate of Columbia High School, Class of 1956; Millersville University with a Bachelor of Science Degree; Elizabethtown College with a Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies; Temple University with a Master of Science in Education and George Washington University with a Masters in Government Contracting. He received numerous government awards and in 1992 he received the Emeritus Service Award. A member of Lodge

286 F and AM Columbia for over 50 years and the Order of DeMolay. He was a Boy Scout with Troop 66, the Throwing Bull Tribe and the Toastmasters Club. He was a Professional Quality Engineer; Licensed Realtor; Licensed Radio Operator; loved music; playing his guitar and he played with the Shawnee Band.
