Lloyd E. Knight, 90, lifelong resident of Manheim, was called home to heaven on Wednesday morning, August 10, 2011 at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, PA. Born in Manheim, he was the son of the late Charles and Mabel Bradley Knight Glick. He was the husband of the late Martha E. Herr Knight who died on March 14, 2007.
Mr. Knight was a member of Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church and a former member of Manheim Brethren in Christ Church where he had been treasurer and served as a deacon for 26 years. As recently as 2005, he was also a faithful delegate to the Regional and General Conferences of the Brethren in Christ Church. He received recognition for many years of perfect conference attendance. Prior to retiring, he was employed for nearly 50 years by the former Manheim Belting and Manufacturing Company as a supervisor in the V-belt department. He was employed part-time by the former Pete Arnold's Service Station and the former Cassel's Clothing Store, both in Manheim. Following retirement, he was employed part-time by Longenecker's True Value, Manheim.
