Martha R. Stoner, 94, formerly of Manheim Township, PA, died on Friday, November 12, 2010 at Homestead Village where she was a resident for the past 9 years. She was born in Manheim Township, the daughter of the late Enos and Alta (Musselman) Royer and the widow of H. Raymond Stoner who died in 1983. Martha grew up on a farm in Roseville, Manheim Township and lived there until her marriage when she and her late husband moved to an adjacent farm on Eden Road. She was actively involved in the operation of their farm for 50 years. She received her bachelor's degree from Millersville State Teachers College in 1938 and did graduate work at Duke University. She was a school teacher for 21 years starting in one-room school houses and later at Schaffer and Nitrauer Elementary Schools until her retirement in 1976. Martha was a member of the Church of the Apostles-UCC, the Homestead Village Auxiliary, did volunteer work at the Landis Valley Museum, a volunteer guide with Lancaster Historic Walking Tours, and was a member of the Society of Farm Women

18 for over 60 years. She is survived by three sons: Roger R. married to Linda (Lueck) Stoner of Lancaster, Mark L. married to Rose Stoner of Lititz, Eric R. Stoner of Brazil, and her daughter, Fay married to Albert Citerone of Baltimore, MD. She was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Royer.
