Summary


John H. Jesberg, age 92 of Kirkwood, PA went home to be with the Lord at the Lancaster General Hospital on Friday, October 1, 2010. He was the husband of Adra Hickes Sullivan Jesberg and the late Ethel Peachey Jesberg who passed away on October 20, 1995. He was born in Reading, son of the late Herman E. and Eva Hill Jesberg. John was raised on Milton and Cora Barge's farm in Strasburg.

He served in the Army in North Africa during WW II. Following that, he earned a Master's Degree in Theology from Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC. He became a representative of the Pocket Testament League serving in Europe, mainly in France. John and his wife Ethel were missionaries in France from 1953 to 1972. He was a member of Calvary Monument Bible Church of Paradise, where he was pastor of visitation following his years in France. He had an active ministry among the seniors at the church, teaching Sunday School and organizing bus trips for them. He also used his expertise to organize and lead many European tours with Bob Neff Tours. He also led inner city evangelistic efforts in such cities as Harrisburg, Lancaster and Chester. Through these and other opportunities, he continued his love for giving out God's Word. He and his son Bob enjoyed following the Phillies. John and his wife Adra traveled cross country in their RV over the winter months. While home in the summer months he loved gardening and planting flowers at their home in Kirkwood.
