Watching the news footage of town hall meetings, one might get the impression that Americans are perfectly happy with a health insurance system that denies them benefits for pre-existing conditions, argues with their doctors over which drugs to prescribe, sends dunning letters long after bills have been paid and is the most expensive in the world.

In reality, the anger at these town hall meetings has more to do with discontent over job losses, bailouts and national debt than it does about health care reform.
