Violet G. Artz, 95, Bowmansville, died at home Nov. 13, 2011, under hospice care. Born in Red Run, a daughter of Elmer and Elsie V. (Burkhart) Sweigart, her husband of 63 years, Leon W. "Wimpy" Artz, died Dec. 5, 2001. A 1935 graduate of E. Cocalico Vocational H. S., she was a life-long member of Muddy Creek Lutheran Church. Violet worked for Stunzi Silk Mill, Ephrata, and Weave Corp., Denver. A lady of strong faith and family values, she loved traveling, gardening and needlework.

Surviving: daughter, Patricia A. Artz, Bowmansville; and nieces and nephews. A son, Donald LaMar Artz, and brother, Marvin S. Sweigart, also predeceased her.
